This day in history
On this day in 1962, Philadelphia Warriors center Wilt Chamberlin scored an NBA-record 100 points in a 169-147 win over the New York Knicks. He was 36-for-63 from the field and 28-for-32 from the foul line. The collegiate record for most points scored in a game is 113 by Rio Grande's (Division II) Clarence "Bevo" Francis in 1954.

Casino suspends basketball gambling for Final Four
The Ontario government announced it will suspend basketball betting at Caesars Windsor during the Division I men's basketball tournament from March 30 to April 6. This year's Final Four is being held in Detroit. The NCAA opposes all forms of legal and illegal sports wagering, which has the potential to undermine the integrity of sports contests and jeopardizes the welfare of student-athletes and the intercollegiate athletics community.

Iona trainer dies at age 97
