Liberty Bowl switches dates
Thanks to ESPN, next year's Liberty Bowl will be played Saturday, Jan. 2, and the bowl officials couldn't be happier.

Freshman ties SEC baseball record
Florida freshman Preston Tucker tied the SEC single-game record and established a school mark with 11 runs batted in to lift the No. 22 Gators to a 16-3 win over University of Central Florida on Wednesday night. Tucker hit grand slams in the fifth and seventh inning, along with a three-run homer in the sixth.

Obama congratulates North Carolina
President Obama called North Carolina men’s basketball coach Roy Williams on Wednesday night to congratulate him on the Tar Heels’ win over Michigan State in the NCAA championship.

Alamo Bowl switches dates
The Alamo Bowl will be joining the college bowl games played in January. The bowl, previously played in late December, will be played on Jan. 2 as part of a deal with ESPN.
