Delaware legislature votes down sports betting bill
Delaware lawmakers have voted down a bill that would have authorized sports betting in state. Gov. Jack Markell had proposed expanding gambling in hopes of raising an estimated $55 million in revenue for the state. The measure fell two votes short of the three-fifths majority needed for the bill to clear the Delaware House of Representatives.

NBA legend Bing elected mayor of Detroit
Former NBA great, Basketball Hall of Famer and 1991 NCAA Silver Anniversary Awards recipient Dave Bing was elected mayor of Detroit on Tuesday. The 65-year-old Bing beat Detroit mayor Ken Cockrel Jr. in the special election between the Democrats.
