Selection Sunday six days away
It was a busy weekend in men’s college basketball. Five teams clinched automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament , and four more schools will punch tickets tonight.  Northern Iowa won the Missouri Valley Conference with a 60-57 overtime victory over Illinois State……

Woman selected as Mountaineer mascot
For only the second time in West Virginia University's history, a woman will servehttp:/i.ixnp.com/images/v3.70/t.gif as the Mountaineer mascot. Sophomore Rebecca Durst was selected to be the mascot for the 2009-2010 school year. Her first event is the will be the April 18 Gold-Blue spring football game.

Topps announced it will release a new 3-D card, designed to entice young, computer-savvy collectors back to the faltering baseball card industry. When held up to a Webcam a detailed version of the player will emerge, allowing the collector to see a 360 degree view of their favorite icons.

Division III men set to skate, women announced this morning
The NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Committee announced Sunday the field of 11 teams for the 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship. First-round play begins with three games on Wednesday.

Group wants students penalized for unused football tickets
Alabama's student football ticket commission submitted a proposed policy changehttp:/i.ixnp.com/images/v3.70/t.gif to the Athletics Ticket Department.  Students who have three unused football tickets in one season would be barred from purchasing postseason tickets, and regular season tickets the following year.
