The fall 2009 issue of NCAA Champion magazine is now available online at www.NCAAChampionMagazine.org.

This issue of the Association’s quarterly publication features an in-depth tribute to the late NCAA President Myles Brand, who died September 16 after serving as the Association’s chief executive officer for almost seven years.

Other features include a look at how Division I institutions market their women’s basketball programs and how a Division II school reinstated its football program in an unconventional manner.

The “Faces of the NCAA” section features Pfeiffer University President Charles Ambrose, who was instrumental in leading Division II during the division’s identity campaign. Springfield College assistant baseball coach Justine Siegal – thought to be the NCAA’s only female baseball coach – and North Carolina Faculty Athletics Representative Jack Evans also are featured.

Among other stories are features on the NCAA Woman of the Year program, the Lowe’s Senior Class award and an effort to make cheerleading safer.

The online version of Champion appears in a “V-Mag” format, which allows readers to download PDF images of each page and crop any page to capture the particular content that interests them.

The next issue of Champion will be published in January and be available at the NCAA Convention.
