The College Sports Information Directors of America unveiled the first phase of a new strategic branding and integrated marketing campaign that includes a new logo and tagline.

CoSIDA’s new logo features a blue, gold and red scheme with the line “Strategic Communicators for College Athletics.”

The shift in identity results from consultation with prominent collegiate communications and PR leaders and with other management groups in intercollegiate athletics.

In 2008, new Executive Director John Humenik and the CoSIDA board of directors developed the organization’s first strategic platform. The branding campaign emanating from the platform is designed to more clearly define the primary role and resources that CoSIDA and its members fulfill in athletics. CoSIDA also plans to unveil a revised Web site in early 2010.

The CoSIDA board held a national contest to solicit ideas for the new logo. The Marietta College team of Sports Information Director Dan May, College Relations Art Director G. Ryan Zundell and former student assistant Christina Moritz designed the winning concept.
