West Virginia’s Pat White broke a three-year-old record for career rushing yards gained by a quarterback in a 35-21 victory over Louisville November 22. White ran for 200 yards in the game, bringing his career rushing total to 4,292 yards, breaking the record of 4,289 held by Missouri’s Brad Smith.
Smith played from 2002-05.
White broke the record on a 4-yard run in the fourth-quarter.
“When I’m done, I’ll sit down and think about it, reflect on it,” White said. “Right now, I’m just thinking about the next two games.”
The feat earned White Big East Conference player of the week honors. The Mountaineers play Pittsburgh Friday and South Florida December 6. West Virginia still trails Cincinnati in the Big East standings.
