The NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee has announced regional sites for the 2008 and 2009 Division I Women’s Volleyball Championships.
For 2008, regional competition will be played December 12-13 at:
• Colorado State’s Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colorado
• Penn State’s Rec Hall in University Park, Pennsylvania
• Texas’ Gregory Gymnasium in Austin, Texas
• Washington’s Bank of America Arena in Seattle
For 2009, regional competition will be played December 11-12 at:
• Florida’s Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida
• Minnesota’s Sports Pavilion, in Minneapolis
• Qwest Center Omaha (hosted by Nebraska)
• Stanford’s Maples Pavilion in Stanford, California
“When we were selecting these sites, we really wanted to focus on attendance history and attendance potential,” said Marie Robbins, chair of the Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee. “We believe these sites provide a regional balance that can also draw great crowds. They have proven to be great hosts in the past, and we know they will help us continue to grow this championship.”
As previously announced, the 2008 semifinals and final will be December 18 and 20 at the Qwest Center Omaha. In 2009, the finals are December 17 and 19 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.
