Gunter had coached softball, tennis and track in addition to leading the women's basketball team to five AIAW championships and later serving as athletics director at Stephen F. Austin. Many of her former players and coaching colleagues were on hand for the game, including former Texas coach Jody Conradt.

The institution dedicated the Sue Gunter Ladyjack Basketball Office Suite at halftime.   Gunter, who also coached at LSU and Middle Tennessee State, died in 2005 from respiratory problems.

Indiana women's tennis coach Lin Loring earned his 700th career win January 20, making him the most successful coach in Division I women's tennis. The Hoosiers beat Miami (Ohio), 6-1. He is the only coach to have won 700 matches, 658 of those victories came at Indiana. "I truly enjoy my job and waking up every day to come to work.

"The location is another big part of this program's success," Loring said. "Bloomington is a nice 'college town' and a great place to raise a family."
