En route to the Division I semifinals, Penn State’s women’s volleyball team set a record December 12 for consecutive sets won.
With a 3-0 sweep of Western Michigan in the regional semifinals, the Nittany Lions won their 106th consecutive set, breaking Florida’s record of 105 in a row set in 2003.
With a victory over California December 13, the 35-0 Lions have also won 62 consecutive matches, another NCAA record. Their consecutive-game streak now stands at 109. Penn State’s last loss came September 15, 2007, against Stanford.
The top-ranked Nittany Lions will take on Nebraska on Thursday, with a spot in the championship match on the line.
