Oklahoma State received nearly $60 million in donations over the last week, some of it earmarked for athletics.
Last week, Malone and Amy Mitchell donated $57.2 million to be split between the business school and Cowboys athletics. Inspired by the Mitchells’ gift, Athletics Director Mike Holder and his wife donated $1 million to the school earmarked for academics.
The athletics portion of the Mitchell gift will provide endowed support to both athletics facility projects and scholarship initiatives.
The Holders’ contribution will help endow chairs for Oklahoma State’s Spears School of Business and assist in the creation of an entrepreneurship department within the school. Holder holds a master’s degree from Oklahoma State’s business school.
