Selection Sunday is less than six weeks away, but if you’ve got a hankering to see a bracket this week, you’ll be able to scratch that itch.
For the second consecutive year, men’s basketball writers will trek to Indianapolis to take part in a mock-selection exercise. The writers will engage in the same process the Men’s Basketball Committee will go through 41 days from now when the stakes are for keeps.
On this week’s edition of Mondays With Myles, NCAA President Myles Brand tells listeners that the feedback from last year’s mock selection was so encouraging that a second day has been added to the fold this time around. Additionally, women’s basketball writers will come to town to conduct their own mock selections on Thursday and Friday.
In his podcast, Dr. Brand says there are misconceptions about how teams are selected to the tournament field, and the mock selections provide an accurate representation of what really happens on that special Sunday in March.
For fans who want to get a sneak peek inside the committee room, NCAA Coordinator of New Media Josh Centor will be live-blogging about the proceedings on Wednesday and Thursday on the Double-A Zone.
