The Double-A Zone featured a live blog from the men’s mock selections, which took place at the National Office February 6 and 7. Because it’s a blog, several readers were able to ask real-time questions about the process, giving blogger Josh Centor the opportunity to address common misperceptions about the process.
“In the case of a Syracuse or a West Virginia, I know that technically they shouldn't consider the high profile exclusions from last year's NCAA, but does that enter the thought process at all with the committee in your opinion?” asked one reader.
“Great question. There is absolutely no consideration for which teams didn’t get in off the bubble last year or in previous years. Additionally, Florida wouldn’t have an edge on the bubble this year because it’s a two-time defending national champ,” responded Centor.
The give-and-take went on through the wee hours of the morning, tallying more than 70 comments over two days. Do you have a question about the process? Read the February 6 and February 7 posts and add your thoughts.
