Texas Tech coach Bob Knight reached his 900th career win January 16 when the Red Raiders beat Texas A&M, 68-53. Knight credited the crowd with helping propel his team to victory.
"You folks being here, seats being full for a change, really made a difference tonight," he said, walking off the court to boisterous applause.
Knight is the first men's basketball coach in Division I to reach 900 career wins. He joins women's basketball coaches Pat Summitt of Tennessee and Jody Conradt, formerly of Texas.
