After working groups for baseball and men’s basketball student-athletes, the NCAA created another group to look at the academic performance of football student-athletes. The group is expected to begin meetings this summer.
Attendance at the women’s basketball tournament games rose, especially at the first- and second- round sites. Television ratings went up as well, with the ratings for this year’s championship game increasing 30 percent from the 2007 final.
