Conferences: The Atlantic 10 Conference is sponsoring an Attendance Challenge during women's basketball regular-season conference games to help promote the sport. The institution which averages the highest attendance for its seven home games from January 12 through March 1 will be declared the winner. The challenge will include attendance figures from the NCAA "Pack the House" and WBCA "Think Pink" initiatives. The conference will also encourage each institution to use various promotions and creative campaigns throughout the regular season. For more information, including current standings, visit www.atlantic10.org. … The Big South Conference is teaming up with Crocs shoes to enhance the "Think Pink" initiative at member institutions. Crocs will provide a pair of pink Crocs to every women's basketball head coach, assistant coach, bench personnel and various school administrators to be worn during the "Think Pink" games.
Miscellaneous: Robert Morris softball team will face the United States National Softball Team May 1 in an exhibition game. The game will be played at Consol Energy Park in Washington, Pennsylvania, home of the Frontier League's Washington Wild Things … Coaches vs. Cancer created "Shooting for a Cure," a gala event to be held May 31 in Wisconsin. Coaches vs. Cancer is the product of the national collaboration of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Five Wisconsin coaches and their wives will serve as hosts: Todd and Jennie Adrian, Edgewood; Bo and Kelly Ryan, Wisconsin; Rob and Deanna Jeter, Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Luke and Meredith Reigel, Wisconsin-Parkside; and Paul and Michelle Combs, Wisconsin-Platteville. The organizing committee for Shooting for A Cure is seeking corporate sponsors and auction items to help reach the event goal of $100,000.
