The Division I Board of Directors will review committee appointments for the reorganized governance structure at its April 24 meeting in Indianapolis.

The group will vote on a slate of candidates to fill the 198 service opportunities in the revised structure, including 31 slots each on the Leadership and Legislative councils and the Championships Cabinet and the 21 slots each on the remaining five cabinets. The appointees were nominated by their conferences, and the Board’s vote will officially populate the reorganized structure.

The Board will also discuss the academic success of student-athletes and the work of several groups formed to improve their academic performance, including the Committee on Academic Performance, the Basketball Academic Enhancement Group.

In other business, the Board will consider for final adoption several proposals forwarded to them by the Division I Management Council. Included in the package are items allowing institutions to provide meals or cash in conjunction with competition, a proposal setting minimum academic requirements for certain two-year transfers and a measure allowing walk-on student-athletes to use the one-time transfer exception in baseball.
