Highlights of the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be televised on ESPNU beginning Friday, November 14. Repeat broadcasts will air November 18 and November 21.
The ceremony took place June 30 in Tampa, honoring Kenny Caldwell, The Citadel; Nancy Hogshead-Makar, Duke; Karen Jennings, Nebraska; Rebecca Lobo, Connecticut; and Amy Privette Perko, Wake Forest. Highlights from the acceptance speeches will be featured on the ESPNU program.
Charles R. Lee, winner of the 2008 Dick Enberg Award, will also be highlighted during the broadcast.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame honors former college student-athletes who have excelled in their professions and made substantial contributions to their communities. Candidates must be 10 years removed from their graduation and an Academic All-America team member or fall into the honorary category.
The Enberg Award honors someone whose actions and commitment furthered the meaning and reach of the Academic All-America teams or the student-athlete while promoting education and academics.
