Women’s track and cross country athlete-scholars recognized

The College Sports Information Directors of America named the members of its 2007-08 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women’s Track and Cross Country teams, including Academic All-Americans April Kubishta of Arizona State and Rachel Anderson of Illinois Wesleyan.

Kubishta, a graduate student, won the 2007 NCAA outdoor pole vaulting title and finished as runner-up at the 2008 championship. She holds the school record of 14-feet, 2-inches and is a three-time Academic All-Pacific-10 selection.

Anderson, a senior, was named a recipient of an NCAA postgraduate scholarship and was the Division III Female Track Athlete of the Year. She won the national indoor and outdoor 400-meters and the outdoor 200-meters. She was also a member of the indoor 4x400 relay team that won the national title.
