Stanford wins fourth straight synchronized swimming title

Stanford scored 94 points en route to winning its fourth consecutive U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday.

Host Ohio State University captured second place with 87 points while Canisius College took home third place with 70 points.

The finals were highlighted in the solo, duet, trio and team events. Stanford swept three of four events while Ohio State took home the gold medal in the team event with a score of 98.500.  

Sara Lowe of Stanford secured the top spot in the solo event with a 96.833. Lowe shared the medal stand with Natalia Tarasova from Canisius College (95.167) who took home the silver medal and Barbara Nesbitt of the Ohio State University (94.833) who grabbed bronze. Lowe also earned the USSS High Point Athlete of the Year honors.

Institutions from NCAA Division I, II and III competed in the championships.
