Applications are available for the 2008-09 NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females.
Aimed at addressing the critical shortage of senior-level professionals of color in athletics administration at NCAA member institutions and conferences, the 12-month institute consists of four professional development sessions, practical work and a week-long intensive workshop. Areas of focus will include leadership and administration, human resource management, finance and fund-raising, and booster and public and media relations
Candidates with at least three years of full-time athletics administrative experience and who have demonstrated a commitment to develop professionally as athletics administrators are invited to apply. The application deadline is May 2. Space is limited; therefore, candidates are encouraged to apply early.
The 2008-09 Leadership Institute class will begin this summer. Upon completion of the program, participants will be eligible for a $3,000 scholarship to defray costs incurred during the year-long institute.
