NACMA elects officers

The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators selected Dennis Kalina, associate athletics director for development at Gonzaga, president of the association for 2008-09. The organization also chose other officers and the members of its Executive Committee.

Brent Seebohm, vice president/ general manager of IMG College at Arizona, will be first vice president; Jeff Bain, director of athletics at Martin Methodist College, will be second vice president; Kurt Esser, associate athletics director for external affairs at New Mexico, will be third vice president.

New board members include Tracie Hitz, assistant athletics director for marketing at Northwestern and Devon Thomas, director of marketing and licensing at Idaho. They join Shawn Becket, assistant vice president/general manager of Pittsburgh’s ISP Sports Network; James Companion, associate commissioner of the Big South; Frank Cuervo, assistant athletics director for external operations at Indiana; James Di Loreto, associate athletics director for external relations at Boston College; Greg Herring, assistant athletics director for marketing at Southern Mississippi; Beth Hunter, marketing director at Notre Dame; David Lichtenstein, assistant athletics director at Morehead State; Carol Parrish, marketing director at Washington; and Ann Brett Strickland, assistant athletics director for corporate sponsorships at Western Carolina.

NACMA will continue to have the advice of Dianna P. Gray, professor in the school of sport and exercise science and director of the Sport Marketing Research Institute at Northern Colorado, and Dan Migala, president of the Migala Report and vice president of industry affairs at the Sport Marketing Association.
