The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics formed an association dedicated to the needs of collegiate event and facility management professionals, the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association.

The group will promote growth, leadership, integrity and success of administrators and staff. NACDA will provide membership functions like member solicitation and dues payments, meeting planning, and general administration.

"Collegiate facility and event managers have never had one common place for educational programs, professional development, networking and best practices," said NACDA Executive Director Mike Cleary. "We are glad that NACDA can fill a void in our industry and provide opportunities to these professionals."

Steve Adams, assistant athletics director for internal operations at Wake Forest, will be president of the new association. Wellesley Athletics Director Bridget Belgiovine will serve as first vice president. Big Ten Associate Commissioner Andrea Williams will be second vice president and Mike Bujol, associate athletics director at New Orleans, will be third vice president.

Other board members include Jeanne Boyd, NCAA managing director of the Division I Men’s Basketball Championship; Donyale Canada, director of sport services at Conference USA; Brett Hickman, Wake Forest assistant athletics director; Michael Kelly, associate commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference; Tim O’Connell, senior associate athletics director, Dayton; Lisa Sweany, senior associate athletics director at Grand Valley State; and John David Wicker, associate athletics director, Washington State.
