The NCAA News

The Division II National Championships Festival is the headline event in a week filled with NCAA championships competition.

The festival in Houston is the third of its kind in Division II and, after Tuesday’s opening ceremonies, will feature competition in men’s and women’s golf and tennis, women’s lacrosse, and softball.

Division III also offers a full slate of championships at sites around the country, including finals in men’s and women’s golf and tennis and women’s lacrosse, while play begins Friday and continues into next week in the division’s softball finals.

Baseball gets underway with early rounds in play in both Divisions II and III, and Division I softball competition also begins.

In addition, men tee off in Division I regional golf play, and the Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships also begin their respective runs in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While championships dominate the mid-May schedule, a key event related to institutional administration of intercollegiate athletics in all three divisions begins Sunday, when the first of this year’s two Regional Rules Seminars opens in Boston.
