The Men’s and Women’s Basketball Rules Committees meet beginning today in Indianapolis, kicking off a week that also features a Division III “town hall” gathering and a busy slate of spring championships action.
Various other committees also will meet this week, including the Division I Women’s Basketball Issues Committee and the Division I Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee, as well as the Division II Women’s Basketball Committee.
Thursday brings the first of three Division III Town Hall Meetings that will solicit input from the membership on the next steps that Division III should take following the recent decision not to pursue a restructuring of the NCAA to deal with membership growth and diversity. Similar meetings also are planned May 19 in Boston and June 2 in San Antonio.
Only one NCAA champion will be crowned this week, after the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo gets underway Friday at Stanford. However, championships play also begins in Division I lacrosse, women’s golf and women’s tennis; Division II golf, softball and tennis; and Division III lacrosse and softball.
