Spring championships get underway this week with a prime indoor event and early competition in two outdoor sports.
Four teams will gather Thursday night for the National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship at the Bren Events Center at UC Irvine. The championship match will be played Saturday.
Also, regional play begins this weekend in the Division II Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships. The men will be playing on courses in New Castle, Delaware; Mooresville, North Carolina; Austin, Texas; Findlay, Ohio; and Rohnert Park, California. Women’s regionals are in Allendale, Michigan; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida; and Phoenix. Teams and individuals will advance to finals at the Division II National Championships Festival in Houston.
Division III’s first spring competition also opens this weekend on campuses of participating institutions with first- and second-round play in the Division III Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships.
A championships-related meeting begins today in Indianapolis, where the Men’s and Women’s Rifle Committee will gather.
