The NCAA News

A Division III working group studying responses to membership growth continues its work this week in its first meeting since discussions about the issue were conducted at the January Convention in Nashville.

The Division III Working Group on Membership Issues will review feedback on its proposals for a possible restructuring of the NCAA, either by creating a new division or subdividing Division III. That feedback will include preliminary results of a membership survey, which is expected to be released publicly next week, after the findings also have been reviewed by an Association-wide working group on membership that was formed by the NCAA Executive Committee.

Winter championships also continue this week in Divisions II and III, including the face-off of the Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship and tipoff of the Division II Men’s and Women’s Elite Eight in basketball. Of course, play also continues in the Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships.

Also on tap are the Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

In other governance activities, the Division II Legislation Committee meets Thursday and Friday.
