LSU wins ICLA award

The International Collegiate Licensing Association named Brian Hommel and the Louisiana State University Trademark Licensing Team winners of the Synergy Award: Program of the Year.

The award honors an individual who has, among other qualities, demonstrated extraordinary commitment to collegiate licensing in the past year, has improved the industry and his place of employment, and has demonstrated innovation during the current academic year.

Hommel, named director of trademark licensing at LSU in 2005, will be recognized at the ICLA convention June 9-12 in Dallas.

As part of his job responsibilities, Hommel is responsible for all facets of LSU’s trademark licensing program. He evaluates, monitors and develops new programs and has expanded the Tiger Tailer retailer program.

Hommel has also worked for the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League, where he was named the ECHL Merchandiser of the Year.
