The NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Rules Committee has issued a minor adjustment to the stick specifications that will be implemented in 2010.
The specification currently requires that the crosse width be a minimum of 6 ½ inches on the front and 6 inches on the back at widest point of the stick and a minimum of 4 inches on the front and 3 ½ inches on the back when measured 5 inches from the throat of the crosse.
On a recent conference call, though, the committee adjusted the standard to change the specification to include a range on the front of the crosse. Therefore, the specification will be adjusted to allow the minimum distance on the front of the crosse to be 6 to 6 ½ inches at the widest point and 3 ½ to 4 inches on the front when measured 5 inches from the throat of the crosse. The specifications on the back of the crosse remain unchanged.
The following table further details the minor alteration.
