The NCAA is seeking the next round of participants in the highly successful NCAA Football Coaches Academy and NCAA Expert Football Coaches Forum (formerly the NCAA Expert Coaches Academy).

The Football Coaches Academy will be held June 29-July 1 in Indianapolis. Aimed at coaches with one to eight years of experience, the academy is designed to improve and reinforce various aspects of securing, managing and excelling in head football coaching positions at the intercollegiate level. Interested candidates are invited to apply for the academy online at http://web1.ncaa.org/MCA/exec/appform.

This year’s Expert Coaches Forum will take place June 5-7 in Dallas. The forum’s goal is to assist minority football coaches with eight or more years of experience who are interested in securing a head coaching position. Workshop topics include communication, fiscal responsibilities, building a successful program, compliance considerations and academic issues. Application materials for the forum may be accessed online at http://web1.ncaa.org/ecp/exec/appform.

The application deadline for both programs is April 24.

The academy and the forum are administered by the NCAA and receive support from the American Football Coaches Association, Black Coaches and Administrators and the National Football League.

Four of the current head coaches of color in the Football Bowl Subdivision – Ron Prince (Kansas State), Norries Wilson (Columbia), Trent Miles (Indiana State) and Kevin Sumlin (Houston) – are graduates of the Expert Coaches Forum. Richmond head coach Mike London graduated from the Football Coaches Academy.
