The Eastern College Athletic Conference named three football officials as recipients of its annual Red Hill Award for excellence in officiating.

Honorees are James Kearney, a 20-year collegiate officiating veteran; Tom Mawhinney, who began officiating football in 1979; and Peter Walsh, who has been working college games since 1991. All three have officiated in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision and also have officiated games in Divisions II and III.

The award's namesake served for 29 years as an ECAC football official and held leadership positions in the Eastern Association of Independent Football Officials.

The recipients will be honored February 19 at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
