Registration for the 2009 NCAA Convention in Washington, D.C., remains open, and those registering by December 5 will still receive guaranteed lower rates. So far, 2,714 people have registered for the event, including 531 in Division I, 766 in Division II, and 911 in Division III.

Attendees have the opportunity to register for the Convention, reserve tickets for special events, select education sessions, reserve a hotel room and request travel arrangements at www.ncaaconvention.com.

The 2009 Convention will be at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, located on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. The closest airport to the Convention site is Reagan National. The hotel opened earlier this year.

Online registration will close December 19, though attendees will have the opportunity to register on site.

For those registering by December 5, the rates are:

• $375 for members

• $475 for non-members

• $50 for current students and 2008 graduates.

From December 6 through on-site registration, the fees will be $500 for members, $600 for non-members and $75 for current students and 2008 graduates.

Registration fees include tickets to the Honors and Delegates Celebration, the trade show reception, the delegates breakfast and the delegates lunch. Additional tickets for the receptions are $40 each.

After December 5, registrants will not be offered the guaranteed room rate at the Gaylord.

The fees to cancel registration are $50 until December 5 and $100 after December 5.
