Don’t be spooked, it’s just the Double-A Zone! Here’s what you missed on the NCAA’s official blog this week:
• You should always tell your loved ones how you feel, but that’s not why we noted Loving Day this week. The day honors Richard Loving, a white man who fought all the way to the Supreme Court to stay married to his wife Mildred, an African-American. Just 41 years ago, racism was sanctioned by law; today, we’re cheering for Tiger Woods as he competes in the U.S. Open.
• If you think everyone engages in good sportsmanship, think again. How can high schools set the tone for appropriate behavior on the fields of play?
• Sixty percent of Super Regional games featured winning teams that scored at least 10 runs. Is this the way baseball should look or are aluminum bats getting in the way?
• Will private donations save Oregon wrestling?
