In the last week, the Double-A Zone has featured content ranging from a professor talking about the portrayal of female student-athletes in the media to behind-the-scenes posts from the Men’s and Women’s Final Four.
In a discussion with Emmett Gill, an assistant professor in the Rutgers University School of Social Work, the impact of the recent Vogue cover featuring LeBron James and supermodel Giselle Bundchen is a topic of conversation. He talks about stereotypes of women and minorities, specifically addressing student-athletes.
The Double-A Zone also showcased a conversation with NCAA President Myles Brand after the announcement of a historic partnership with the NBA and other key stakeholders to add new structure to the youth basketball environment.
Several influential, nationally-known business leaders, meeting as members of the NCAA’s Leadership Advisory Board, also shared their thoughts on intercollegiate athletics.
The blog shared several behind-the-scenes moments at the Men’s Final Four and the Women’s championship as well.
