Before you turn on American Idol tonight, sit down and watch some history on ESPN2 as UNC Greensboro and Davidson play at 7:00.

Spartans’ senior forward Kyle Hines needs just seven rebounds to reach 1,000 for his career and join Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Pervis Ellison, Alonzo Mourning and Derrick Coleman as the only players in NCAA history with 2000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 300 blocks in a career.

Hines, an all-American candidate has been exceptional on the court this season, leading the Spartans with 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. But Hines’ success extends well beyond Fleming Gymnasium, as the communications major has established a loyal following as the most popular featured writer on the Double-A Zone, the official blog of the NCAA.

All season long, Hines has been providing Double-A Zone readers with a look inside his life and the UNC Greensboro program. He made his most recent entry yesterday, when he discussed a recent four-game losing streak and the importance of tonight’s game at Davidson.
