The College Sports Information Directors of America announced the members of its 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Baseball Teams, led by Buster Posey of Florida State and Lynn’s Gabe MacDougall.

Posey, a junior catcher for the Seminoles, started 43 games behind the plate and as of May 19 led the nation in five offensive statistical categories: batting average (.465), hits (99), total bases (184), on-base percentage (.565) and slugging percentage (.864). He has also pitched eight times for Florida State and is a perfect 6-for-6 in save opportunities, striking out 10 batters.

Junior outfielder MacDougall tied a school record with 65 RBI while scoring 65 or more for Lynn. He batted .389 with 20 doubles and 21 home runs (a Knight record). He ranks second in Division II in home runs per game (0.40) and had separate hitting streaks of 17 and 19 games this season.
