The College Sports Information Directors of America announced the 2008 ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team, led by Zach Simmons of Massachusetts and Jonathan Hall of Carnegie Mellon.

Simmons, a senior goalkeeper, represents the university division. He was a preseason all-American after earning a national player of the year award in 2007. Also last year, he was part of the Minutemen team that reached the College Cup semifinals. He holds the school record for shutouts with 29.

College division representative Hall, a junior defender, led the Tartans to a 15-3-1 record and the second round of the NCAA tournament this year. His team recorded 10 shutouts and an average of .78 goals per game. He was a team captain.
