Texas' Conradt calls it a career

University of Texas at Austin women’s basketball coach Jody Conradt announced her retirement after becoming just the second women’s coach to reach 900 career victories.
Conradt’s Longhorns, who fell short in their bid to reach the NCAA tournamwnt field for the second consecutive year, gave the veteran coach win No. 900 in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. She is second on the Division I college basketball victory list behind Tennessee’s Pat Summitt.
Before settling into the Texas program in 1976, Conradt spent four years as the head coach at Sam Houston State and three at the Texas-Arlington helm. In 1986, Conradt led the Longhorns to a 34-0 record and its lone national championship.
A six-time national coach of the year, Conradt is enshrined in both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. A graduate of Baylor, Conradt averaged 20.0 points per game during her time in Waco.
Conradt finishes her career with an overall record of 900-306 in 38 seasons as a head coach.
