Shippensburg athletics director to chair Management Council
The NCAA News
The Management Council has elected Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania Athletics Director Roberta Page to replace former Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner Dave Brunk as chair. The appointment is effective immediately, since Brunk recently took the commissioner post at the Peach Belt Conference and is ineligible to complete his term.
Page will chair the Council through the 2008 Convention, when her own term on the Council expires. That means the Council will have to elect a successor in October.
Page was hired at Shippensburg in January 2000 as associate director of athletics and then served as interim director of athletics from December 2001 until June 2003 when she was appointed director after a national search.
Before that, she was the athletics director and assistant principal at Gettysburg High School.
She graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 1988 after being a two-sport student-athlete (basketball and softball). She then taught health and physical education and served as assistant track coach and assistant varsity and head junior varsity basketball coach at Chambersburg High School for seven years. Page also was head volleyball coach at Wilson College from 1992-94.
Page earned two master’s degrees from McDaniel College in athletics administration and educational administration. She has a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Duquesne University.
