Miscellaneous: Five institutions and two conferences have been awarded grants through the Division II Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Program. Now in its sixth year, the program provides funding for Division II institutions and conference offices to enhance diversity and inclusion through full-time professional administrative positions in athletics administration. The NCAA funds 75 percent of the position during the first year, 50 percent the second year and 25 percent during the third year. Participating institutions or conference offices are required to maintain the position for a minimum of two years after grant funds are exhausted, preferably incorporating the position into their ongoing operations. The institutions receiving grants for 2007 are (with the new or enhanced position) Assumption College (associate director of athletics/senior woman administrator); California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (associate athletics director); Colorado State University at Pueblo (associate director of athletics/senior woman administrator); Queens College (New York) (assistant athletics director/student welfare and strategic initiatives); and Sonoma State University (assistant athletics director for compliance). The Central Athletics Collegiate Conference (associate commissioner/senior woman administrator) and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (assistant commissioner for internal relations) also received grants.
