The NCAA News
Army marches to Houston — The U.S. Military Academy men’s soccer team visited the Texas Children’s Hospital during their recent trip to Houston for a scrimmage against Southern Methodist University. Hosted by the West Point Society of Greater Houston, the Black Knights visited young heart patients before preparing for a preseason contest against the nationally ranked Mustangs. It was also a homecoming for eight members of the team who are native Texans, including four (seniors Chris Conklin, Chase Spruill, junior John-Michael Gallogly and sophomore Evan Seale) who call Houston home. In the scrimmage, Army senior Chase Hunter converted a penalty kick in the second half for the Black Knights’ lone goal in a 2-1 match played in front of a large group of friends and family.
