Teaching hockey fundamentals — St. Cloud State University
The NCAA News
Teaching hockey fundamentals — The St. Cloud State University women’s hockey team visited five elementary schools over the winter break. The visits were designed to spark community interest in St. Cloud State women’s hockey and help kick off the elementary schools’ floor hockey units in physical education class. The St. Cloud State student-athletes, including senior Hailey Clarkson, taught fundamentals like passing, stick-handling, goaltending, shooting and a combination station. A total of 2,000 women’s hockey game tickets, as well as autographed posters and schedules, were distributed to the students at the end of the sessions.
