Mouratidis replaces Joe Kurey, who announced his retirement from Bethany on August 24 after 45 years, the last nine months as athletics director.

Sharon Brummell was named assistant director of athletics for budgeting and fiscal operations at Maryland-Eastern Shore. She will also assume the designation of senior woman administrator … Jessica Cherry has been promoted to assistant director of athletics at York (New York). She will remain as the program’s senior woman administrator … South Carolina Upstate named Traci Farrington, Greg Mosley and Sandy Sandago as assistant athletics directors. Farrington will work in development, Mosley in marketing and promotions and Sandago will serve as assistant athletics director for sports medicine … Rice hired Chuck Pool to be the school’s assistant athletics director for sports information.

Baseball – Chris Campbell was appointed interim coach at Transylvania.

Former Kentucky baseball player Jon Hooker was killed August 27 in an airplane accident at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky. Hooker and his wife, Scarlett Parsley, were headed to California on their honeymoon. Hooker pitched for the Wildcats from 1998-2001.
