The NCAA’s official blog has been a place for student-athletes, coaches and fans to engage daily in conversations and share their thoughts, perspectives and experiences. This week, the Double-A Zone will introduce a new feature, as NCAA staff members begin to integrate themselves into the conversation.
Bob Williams, NCAA managing director of public and media relations, will join blogger Josh Centor for a podcast chat in the inaugural conversation. Williams, who joined the NCAA after a 25-year career in the Air Force, will discuss what attracted him to Indianapolis. A different NCAA staffer will be introduced on the blog every couple of weeks.
Last week, the Double-A Zone had a featured guest post from Stephen Goodridge, the University of Rochester sophomore who recently won the Division III individual golf championship. In his post, Goodridge discussed his harried schedule and how he balances academic and athletics rigors.
University of Indianapolis student-athlete Eileen Patton also contributed a featured guest post last week.
The Double-A Zone’s Coaches’ Corner has continued to expand with the latest entry coming from Merrimack College hockey coach Mark Dennehy, who discussed issues facing a small program competing in one of the nation’s elite leagues. Merrimack is a Division II school with a Division I hockey program that competes in the Hockey East Association.
The NCAA blog is a central location for informed opinions about intercollegiate athletics to be shared. The Web site can be found at http://www.doubleazone.com. To find out how to submit a guest post, contact Josh Centor (jcentor@NCAA.org).
