A number of interesting conversations took place on the Double-A Zone last week, including another spirited debate about diploma mills.
After a submitted comment questioned why the NCAA hadn’t come down harder on prep schools, an interesting discussion examining the responsibility of institutions in the admissions process followed.
The NCAA’s official blog also continued its new feature, "Faces of the NCAA," which introduced Vice President for Membership Services Kevin Lennon. In the conversation, Lennon addressed diploma mills and his role at the NCAA, but also discussed his childhood growing up near the University of Notre Dame, his athletics career at Harvard University, his love of food and his desire to be a rock star.
Senior Vice President for Championships and Education Services Judy Sweet will be included in an upcoming podcast.
The Double-A Zone also addressed the tragic deaths of Northwestern University football coach Randy Walker and former Elmira College all-American ice hockey student-athlete Laura Hurd.
In the upcoming weeks, the Double-A Zone will continue to provide perspective and conversations about all issues that affect intercollegiate athletics.
