The Double-A Zone launched a new feature called Administrator’s Alley last week. Administrator’s Alley will provide bloggers with an inside look at some of the individuals who work in athletics departments across the county.

In the inaugural post, Denise Gideon, the assistant media relations director at Middle Tennessee State University, shared her thoughts about watching Blue Raiders athletics from press row. Gideon discussed the joy of victory and the agony of defeat, all from the perspective of an administrator who cheers silently from the sidelines.

NCAA public and media relations intern Zach Lawson shared a post about his experience at the cross country meets at the Division II National Championships Festival. Lawson was intrigued by the fans who sprinted across the course to get to the next viewing spot. Lawson said: "(The fans) were busting their humps to get ahead of the runners, so they could cheer on their favorite as he passed by. Once the pack moved on, so did the crowd."

Student-athletes have redefined their presence on the Double-A Zone, many of them writing frequent posts to give readers a closer glimpse of their daily lives on campus. University of Maine, Orono, swimming student-athlete Sarah Holmsten submitted a week-long journal chronicling her experiences on campus during Thanksgiving week. Holmsten said that "for most college students, the week of the Thanksgiving holiday leads to classes to get home…the life of a student-athlete during Thanksgiving week is somewhat different."

University of Maryland, College Park, forward Laura Harper checked in from the Bahamas, where the Terrapins improved to 7-0 at the Junkanoo Jam.

After a one-week hiatus due to scheduling conflicts, Mondays With Myles returned to the airwaves last week. NCAA President Myles Brand discussed his experiences at the Championships Festival and described why he would never forget the special event.
