Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution’s multisport conference. The Division I nomination form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials should be submitted via the online nomination process by the conference office.

Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submitting nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 22, 2006.

Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee: The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the newly created Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee, which is responsible for determining facts related to the certification of prospective student-athletes when institutions challenge the determination of facts rendered by the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. The 15-member committee will conduct its work electronically unless the chair believes an in-person meeting is necessary.

Postgraduate Scholarship Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace John Hardt of Bucknell University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from an institution that sponsors football at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision level.

Division III

Division III individuals may be self-nomination or nominated by peers. A Division III nomination form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials should be submitted via the online nomination process available at: web1.ncaa.org/committees/selection.jsp. Divisional access code and password are available upon request.

The deadline for submitting nomination materials for the following vacancies is September 20, 2006.

Research Committee: One immediate Division III vacancy. The appointee will replace Pamela Wojnar, formerly of Wheaton College (Massachusetts), who resigned from the committee. There are no restrictions on this appointment.

Division III Women’s Tennis Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Susan Oertel of Luther College. The appointee must be from the Central region and may be a coach or an administrator.

Eligible conferences: College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Midwest Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Northern Athletics Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Eligible independent institutions: Martin Luther College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, College of St. Scholastica.

Additional nominations solicited

The deadline for submitting nomination materials for the following vacancies is September 20, 2006.

Division III Management Council: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Larry Glover, formerly of Fisk University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an ethnic minority. Management Council service is limited to institutional presidents, faculty athletics representatives, senior woman administrators, athletics administrators and conference office personnel.

Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Kerry Norman, formerly of Concordia College, Moorhead, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Mark Guthrie, formerly of the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an administrator from the Midwest region who represents men’s track and field or cross country interests.

Eligible conferences: College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Midwest Conference, Northern Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association (University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis).

Eligible independent institutions: Milwaukee School of Engineering, Northland College.
