Women’s volleyball coach Julie Jenkins collected her 600th win when the Tigers defeated McMurry College October 27, and men’s basketball coach Pat Cunningham notched his 300th victory in a December 3 win over Millsaps College. Jenkins, who led her team to its 15th straight appearance in the Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship this season and posted a 38-2 mark in advancing to the quarterfinals, ended the season with 613 career wins — including 29 wins during one year as interim head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University before moving to Trinity in 1985. Cunningham, who recently began his seventh season at the school, collected 172 of his victories during stints at Manchester College and the University of Chicago, and ranks second in career victories at Trinity ... Lori Kerans won her 400th game in women’s basketball November 29 when Millikin University defeated the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. Kerans, who coached the Big Blue to a Division III title in 2005, has led her teams to 14 NCAA postseason appearances, and the Big Blue have won 75 percent of their games under her tutelage ... Matt Cushing claimed his 200th victory in men’s soccer when Wheaton College (Massachusetts) defeated Babson College November 5 in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference postseason tournament championship game. The Lyons made their seventh appearance in the Division III Men’s Soccer Championship under Cushing this season as he completed his 13th year at the school ... Dixie Jeffers became the sixth coach in Division III women’s basketball to win 500 games when Capital University defeated Wittenberg University November 25. Jeffers, whose teams have won 80 percent of their games entering her 24th season, led the Crusaders to back-to-back Division III titles in 1994 and 1995 and has coached teams to 11 Division III Women’s Basketball Championships appearances. She collected the first 52 of her victories during three seasons at the University of Rio Grande.
