“Rivals for Relief” — Student-Athlete Advisory Committees from Missouri Western State University and Northwest Missouri State University recently conducted a fund-raising effort to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. Billed as “Rivals for Relief,” the effort involved student-athletes collecting donations during the two schools’ football game this fall. School officials presented proceeds of the event to the American Red Cross before the rivals’ February 15 men’s basketball game.
