Fall sports opener —
Texas A&M University, College Station, kicked off the women’s soccer season August 25 with a significant upset, knocking off the 18-time national champions from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, 1-0, in double overtime. The loss was the first in a season opener for the Tar Heels since 1983.
